KnittingThursday 28 February 2002
Is it an activity you only watch your mother do, or are you a dab hand with two needles and a ball of yarn? Surprisingly, young people are now learning how to wield the needles and if you've been looking at the clothes on the catwalks during London Fashion Week you'll have noticed a startling new trend. Knitwear. Fine, lightweight knits are out, and chunky woolies are back.

Jenni discusses the ins and outs of the ancient art of knitting with Anthea Jarvis, Principal Curator at the Gallery of Costume in Manchester and fashion writer and tv presenter, Angela Buttolph.
