Sally PhillipsFriday 1 March 2002
It takes a real talent to make a name for yourself in the tiniest of roles. A motel receptionist in Norwich with barely any lines doesn't sound the most promising of roles with which to launch your career but fans of Alan Partridge will certainly remember Sally Phillips behind the desk barely able to control her giggles.

Since then she's starred in Smack the Pony, appeared in Bridget Jones' Diary and now has her own drama series Rescue Me which begins on Sunday night on BBC1.
Sally joins Martha Kearney to talk about her role as Katie Nash, a magazine journalist who in the first episode has the trick assignment of interviewing a woman about her gigolo.
