Stacy DragilaThursday 14 February 2002
Before Stacy Dragila, pole vaulting for women was considered something of a joke. Three years ago her sport was so unrecognised, that the prospective world champion was working as a waitress. But at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, she became the first woman ever to win a gold medal in pole-vaulting.

She talks to Jenni about her meteoric rise to the Olympic gold and the accolade of being named the Female Athlete of the Year by the International Athletics Foundation.

Dragila vaults into history
