Living with AspergersThursday 3 January 2002
This is Autism Awareness Year. On the 6th January churches of all denominations will be remembering autistic children and adults in prayer, in what has been designated Autism Sunday.

Aspergers is a type of autism, which leads to difficulties in communication and understanding, and partners of people with the syndrome often don't know that their partners' behaviour is due to a disorder.
Claudia Hammond found out more about the condition, and spoke to Maxine Ashton, author of The Other Half of Aspergers Syndrome.
For more details please call the Radio 4 Actionline on 0800 044 044.
Maxine Ashton's book The Other Half of Aspergers Syndrome (ISBN: 1 899280 375) is available from the National Autistic Society for £6.00 (plus £3.00 postage and handling). Call Barnardos Despatch Services on 01268 522872 to order a copy.
The National Austistic Society helpline no: 0870 600 8585.
