Jackie BallardThursday 20 December 2001
Jackie Ballard was a bright star in the Liberal Democrat firmament - but in June this year she lost her seat.

She did what a lot of us do when in need of rest and recuperation - she headed off for some sunshine.
But unlike most of us she spent that holiday in Iran. She loved it so much she decided to move and by October she was back in Tehran and starting work on her PhD.
Jenni talks to Jackie Ballard to find out if she finds life in Iran more liberating than life at Westminster.
