Debbie WisemanThursday 13 December 2001
In 1997 composer Debbie Wiseman wrote the score for the film Wilde, a bio-pic of nineteenth century writer Oscar Wilde starring Stephen Fry. Her efforts won her an Ivor Novello Award nomination for Best Original Film Score.

But her interest in Oscar Wilde does not stop here. She has written a musical setting for the Wilde short story, The Nightingale and Rose narrated by Stephen Fry, whilst her most recent work is a score for the writer's fairy tale, The Selfish Giant.
This Friday, the BBC Concert Orchestra will be premiering The Selfish Giant at the Royal Festival Hall where they will be joined by Nigel Havers as narrator.
Jenni talks to Debbie about her most recent composition and about her career as one of Britain's most successful composers.
