Domestic violenceWednesday 28 November 2001
It is estimated that one in four women will experience domestic violence at some time during their lives and that only just under a third of that violence is reported to the police.

David Calvert-Smith QC, Director of the Crown Prosecution Service, talks about their plans unveiled today to achieve higher conviction rates in cases of domestic violence.
And Jenni is joined by Nicola Harwin of Women's Aid and Sharon Waugh, whose husband was one of the few convicted for the crime.
