MP Joan RuddockTuesday 13 November 2001
MP Joan Ruddock launches the UK Women's Link with Afghan Women in the House of Commons today.

She wants to change our perceptions of women in Afghanistan, whom, she says, have become relegated to anonymous, burka-shrouded figures in the public consciousness.
She argues that the international community is colluding with the Taliban in keeping these women invisible by failing to include them in every stage of planning for a post-Taliban government.
She joins Jenni in the studio.
