The Titanic Apron
The Titanic Apron

This year the city of Liverpool is celebrating its position as European Capital of Culture. Woman’s Hour is marking the occasion with a series of features discovering some the treasures in the city’s Museums and Galleries which have a particular significance for women. Today’s treasure is an apron which was worn by one of the passengers on board the Titanic. Although built in Belfast the ship belonged to the White Star Line, which was based in Liverpool, and so the Titanic was registered there. Louise Adamson went to the Merseyside Maritime Museum, to meet curator Rachel Mulhearn.
