Should mothers be forced to name a child's father?
Each year about 45,000 children born in England and Wales do not have their father named on their birth certificate. The Government has just published a White Paper containing proposals to make mothers include the father’s name, unless it is ‘impractical, impossible or unreasonable’ to do so.
