History
Queen Maud8 August 2006
In 1905, Norwegians decided that they wanted to be a monarchy and in a referendum Prince Carl of Denmark and his wife Princess Maud were voted in as the first King and Queen. Norway wanted an alliance with a powerful country and Maud was British, the daughter of King Edward VII.

After her death in 1938 her family donated her clothes to the National Museum. Corinne Julius went to Oslo to hear about Maud's life through her clothes, in the company of the curator Anne Kjerllberg.
