Post-Partum Psychosis2 Dec 2009
How can we detect women at risk?

The link between mental illness and childbirth has been noted for hundreds of years, so why is it that suicide is still a leading cause of maternal death in the UK today? Dr Ian Jones from the University of Cardiff gave a lecture on "Motherhood and the Mind" at the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists - he joins Jenni to discuss some of the problems that can affect the mental health of new mothers. They are joined by Dave Emson and Jackie Benjamin whose lives have both been affected by post-partum psychosis.
