Planning to promote women’s rights at work throughout the downturn
The minister for women Harriet Harman is hosting a roundtable meeting at 11 Downing Street to examine the impact of the recession on women and discuss what should be done. The Fawcett Society says that women are bearing the burden of the recession and is setting out an action plan for economic recovery that would protect women’s rights. So, if women entered the recession on an unequal footing, what can be done to promote equality now? Jenni talks to Katherine Rake, Director of the Fawcett Society and and Yvette Cooper, Chief Secretary to the Treasury. | |
