Male Infertility Treatment7 July 2008
IVF
New treatment for male infertility is showing good results.

Trials of a new IVF treatment for male infertility, IMSI (intra-cytoplasmic morphologically-selected sperm injection) have resulted in improved pregnancy rates. The therapy, which builds on the success of ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection), involves selecting sperm with a shape and size that indicate good DNA. The treatment is particularly encouraging for men with the worst prognosis. Allan Pacey, Lecturer in Andrology at the University of Sheffield joins Jane to talk about the new treatment.
