Do we need the vast array of disposable sanitary protection products?

Tampons with skirts, panty liners with wings, without wings, ultra thin, ultra absorbent, breathable, scented or unscented - the array is staggering! Menstrual protection it seems is no longer a purchase for necessity but a luxury with which to pamper ourselves. But do women want or need so much choice when it comes to buying sanitary protection? Jane discusses the issues with journalist Harriet Reuter-Hapgood and Tracy Stewart, Director General of the Absorbent Hygiene Products Manufacturers Association.
