Who Carries The Can For Parental Care?17 Jan 2008
Care in the UK
The strain on family relationships when decisions have to be made about the care of an elderly relative.

How do you negotiate family tensions when one person finds themselves doing more than their fair share of looking after an elderly relative? How do you overcome the disagreements that arise when trying to make group decisions about the welfare of an aged parent? As part of the Care in the UK season Jenni looks at the reasons why certain siblings often find themselves doing the caring whilst others neglect their responsibilities. Joining her in discussion will be SAGA Agony Aunt, Katharine Whitehorn and Lavinia Cohn-Sherbok, the author of What Do You Do When Your Parents Live Forever?

What Do You Do When Your Parents Live Forever - A Practical Guide to Caring for the Elderly by Dan and Lavinia Cohn-Sherbok is published by O Books, ISBN 1-84694-028-1
