The listed garden at East Lambrook Manor in Somerset is internationally recognised as the home of English cottage gardening. It was created in the 1950's by Margery Fish, who became one of the country’s foremost gardening writers. But she came to gardening quite late in life when she married, after a long career in journalism. She catalogued the endeavours of herself and her beloved husband in her, now classic, book: “We Made a Garden”. However, Margery and Walter Fish did not always see eye to eye about how to make that garden.
