Invasion of the Jellyfish?30th July 2007
Jellyfish
Jellyfish facts and what to do if you encounter one.

Holidaymakers off to the Mediterranean this year will find jellyfish defences out in force - spotter planes, volunteer flotillas and floating barriers are amongst the measures being used to stop toxic jellyfish reaching the shores. In Spain alone last summer tens of thousands of holidaymakers were treated for painful stings and allergic reactions after smacks of jellyfish washed up on tourist beaches. We find out the facts on jellyfish – where are the harmful ones found and are numbers increasing? What should you do if you encounter a jellyfish in the water, or you or your children get stung?
