Mozart’s Women: Rosa Cannabich29 Nov 2006
2006 is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Over the years Mozart wrote pieces for various women, occasionally to use in his lessons and at other times to give them a chance to show off their skills. Sometimes, as in the case of the Piano Sonata in C he wrote for Rosa Cannabich, he was out to impress her father. Diana Ambache shows Claudia Hammond why this sonata was so special.
