Beekeeping
You may think that bees require nothing less than a rural idyll to make their honey. But urban beekeepers have found that gardens, parks and neglected wasteground provide ample foraging for their honeybees.

Photographers Jill Mead and Steve Benbow harvest around a tonne of honey each year. Some of that honey comes from a hive on the roof of their flat, overlooking Tower Bridge in London.

Sara Parker donned her veil and protective suit to visit these city bees and their dedicated keepers.
