'Formula Woman' racing driving12 September 2006
Women have been taking part in motor racing since cars first went onto a race track. But up until now there's been no championship aimed specifically at female drivers. That all changed two years ago when a new event - 'Formula Woman' - was set up.

The aim is to get female drivers who've never taken part in the sport involved. They've taken women from all walks of life, ranging from teenagers to grandmothers and given them training in how to be a racing driver.

Louise Adamson has just been to one of the 'Formula Woman' championship events to find out more.

The final event of the Formula Woman championship will be held on the 23rd and 24th of September 2006 at Snetterton in Norfolk.
