Next year marks the 400th anniversary of the journey of the first English people to America and the founding of the first colony, Jamestown. To commemorate the anniversary, the chiefs of the 8 Powtan tribes of Virginia have been visiting England - the first such visit in 230 years. Today they go to the House of Commons to highlight their campaign for greater recognition of rights for Native Americans. They've spent the rest of their visit in Kent, where Pocohontas died and is buried.
Lizz Pearson went to Gravesend, to witness the Indian tribes' official welcome. She spoke to the only female chief among them, Anne Richardson of the Rapphannock tribe, and asked her how the visit came about.
