Penelope Spheeris21 Jul 2006
Penelope Spheeris' best known film is 'Wayne's World', the goofy comedy that shot Mike Myers to fame. But her track record is in music documentaries. She has catalogued the punk era like no other film-maker and is currently working on a biopic of Janis Joplin.

As the NFT re-screens her classic 'Decline of Western Civilisation' this weekend, Martha will be talking to Penelope about her own difficult childhood and how that led her to document music's angry young men.
