The Wisdom of Proverbs11 Nov 2009
How relevant are proverbs today?

An Arab proverb advises: 'To understand people, acquaint yourself with their proverbs'. Many of the proverbs we use today date back to Aesop, the Bible, Shakespeare and folklore from the Middle Ages. Jenni is joined by Caroline Taggart, author of An Apple a Day old fashioned proverbs and why they work; and Elizabeth Knowles, editor of Little Oxford Dictionary of Proverbs to examine their relevance today.

'An Apple a Day : old fashioned proverbs and why they work '- by Caroline Taggart, is published by Michael O’Mara Books Ltd, ISBN: 978-1-84317-392-2

Little Oxford Dictionary of Proverbs, Edited by Elizabeth Knowles, ISBN: 978-0-19-956802-4
