Neil Jackson's childhood had been rocked by a family accident. Then, in January 1976 the news came that his mother had been murdered, and the perpetrator was the man who became known as the Yorkshire Ripper - Peter Sutcliffe. She was his second victim, and 17 year old Neil had to endure the continuing news reports and publicity around the case that involved many more murders. He also learnt that his beloved mother had turned to prostitution. In a new book, the criminologist Jane Carter Woodrow with the help of Neil, tells his story. They talk to Jenni.
