Margaret Storm Jameson
A prolific novelist and political activist whose life spanned almost the whole of the twentieth century.

Storm Jameson was a writer who gained international recognition for rescuing European writers from Nazi Europe and British internment camps. Through her writing, Jameson put a mirror to the generation that lived through two World Wars. Her work is less well known today, but she was extremely popular during the first half of the 20th century. Her biographer, Jennifer Birkett, joins Sheila to talk about the work and political activities of a remarkable woman.

Margaret Storm Jameson: A Life by Jennifer Birkett is published by OUP on 19th March 2009 £25.00 (hardback) ISBN: 978-0-19-955820-9
