The scholar, translator and beloved daughter of Thomas More

The life of Sir Thomas More is well known – he opposed Henry VIII’s bid to become head of the English Church, was arrested for treason in 1534, imprisoned in the Tower of London, and executed the following year. But few are familiar with the biography of his favourite daughter Margaret, an extraordinarily learned woman who played a key role in her father’s drama, ensuring his lasting fame. Historian John Guy joins Jenni to discuss Margaret's life and her relationship with her father.

A Daughter’s Love: Thomas and Margaret More by John Guy, published by Fourth Estate ISBN-13: 978-0007192311
