It is estimated that there are about 2 million disabled parents in the UK and, as the BBC’s Care in the UK season draws to a close, Simone Baker, Vice Chair of the Disabled Parents Network, joins Jenni to talk about her own experiences of getting appropriate support with her parenting role. Simone is thalidomide impaired with shortening of her arms and legs, and is a wheelchair user. They are joined by Amanda Edwards of the Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) to discuss what can be done to ensure that disabled parents are adequately supported.
