The future of our maternity services

The newly appointed head of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Professor Sabaratnam Arulkumaran, talks to Jane about the future of our maternity services. In April, the Government published Maternity Matters - by the end of 2009, all women will have choice around the type of care they receive, together with improved access to services and continuity of midwifery care and support. So is the Government is on track to fulfill its promises regarding maternity services?
