Clothes Moths07 Aug
Moth damage to a pair of 1933 tweed plus fours at the National Trust's Killerton House
As one historic house goes on ‘moth alert’, what can you do to keep them out?

At less than half an inch long, they don’t look all that menacing, but clothes moths have threatened what’s described as one of the country’s most important costume collections, at Killerton House, near Exeter in Devon. We visited the house with National Trust staff and volunteers, who are on ‘moth alert’ to try to limit the damage. But where do clothes moths come from? What should you do if you find them in your wardrobe? And why do they always go for your most expensive knitwear? Jenni is joined in the studio by the entomologist Dr George McGavin and Clare Livingstone from Good Housekeeping Magazine.
