Abortion – Pressure for Change05 June 2007
Tightening the law on abortion.

There have been a number of calls to tighten the law on abortion over the last few months. One MP has sought to lower the 24 week limit on abortions, a move that another is expected to repeat this summer. Ann Winterton MP has called for compulsory counselling and a mandatory cooling off period of one week before an abortion can be performed. But is further delay a help or a hindrance and has public opinion shifted on the abortion question? Ritula is joined by Ann Winterton MP and by journalist Joan Smith to discuss recent calls to change the law on abortion.
