Obsessive compulsive order is thought to affect one in every hundred children and it can start at a very young age. Symptoms vary, but the most common include excessive hand washing, cleaning, arranging objects and hoarding. It can be a desperately disabling condition which affects not only the children themselves, but their whole family. Martha will be discussing current treatments with the mother of a child with OCD and Dr Isobel Heyman, who heads the only specialist OCD unit for children and adolescents. Help Me, Help my Child will be broadcast on Channel 4 on Mon Dec 4th 2006 at 8.00pm
