A leading fertility expert has expressed concern that high doses of hormones used to help women produce eggs, as well as steroids used to help implant embryos, could harm the health of patients and may not be necessary. Dr. Geeta Nargund, head of reproductive medicine at St. George’s Hospital in London is calling for a greater regulation of the drugs and more research into the impact of their long term use.
She’ll be explaining her concerns to Ritula Shah and they’ll be joined by Dr. Mark Hammond, Chair of the British Fertility Society, who believes that doses are lower than they have ever been and that regulation is unnecessary.
