For forty-five years, Woman's Hour was broadcast in the early afternoon. Then in 1991, a brave Controller of Radio 4, Michael Green, decided it would do better in the morning. It caused a national outcry, and a frequently asked question about the network - is why was the programme moved? Even the Queen wanted to know when she came to Broadcasting House earlier this year.
