Mali Wu21 Sept 2006
Mali Wu is from Taiwan and was one of the country's most influential feminist artists in the 1990's. Her work was often provocative... she once presented a chair with a bra hanging off it. The work was called "Female" and was meant to depict how women are often sat upon by men. For the last few weeks she's been in Blackburn - putting together a work of art called "Re-Thread". It's based upon conversations she recorded with members of the South Asian community who came to the town to work in the textile industry in the 50's and 60's. So just what brought her here, and how has her work changed over the years? Kate Betts went to meet her? Reporter Kate Betts went to meet her.

The exhibition, "Re-Thread", can be seen at the Open Centre at BBC Radio Lancashire until the 1st of October 2006.
