Back in 1957, two friends, June Reed and Jean Fargerson made the decision to quit their jobs and set up a mobile catering business. It was so unusual, that they even ended up being interviewed on Woman's Hour about it. Its success cemented their friendship, led them to run a restaurant together and eventually to buy a shared property and live side-by-side.
They've recently written a book about their experiences of running their catering van and Kim Normanton went to meet June, who's recently turned 80, and Jean, who's on her way to becoming an octogenarian.
