Music
Evon Brennan16 Aug 2006
Evon Brennan was two months old when she was taken to Ireland with her twin sister and placed in religious care. Her unmarried mother was Irish and her father African and this was thought to be the best place for the girls. It was a strict, unloving environment and Evon was never allowed to ask questions about why she had been abandoned there and so came to believe that she must have done something awful to merit such rejection. In her second children's home she developed a passion for music and now. many years later, her first album Small Mercies has been released. Evon talks to Jenni about how making music has helped heal her insecurities.
