Tony Award Winning Sarah Travis19 June 2006
Sarah Travis
Last Sunday, Sarah Travis became the first woman to win a Tony Award for Orchestration. It was for her musical arrangement of "Sweeny Todd", a show which has taken New York by storm. Sondheim, who wrote the show, said of her 'this woman's orchestrations of my music make me cry'.

Sarah joins Jenni to talk about her innovative approach to arrangement, where the actors play the instruments themselves, and her other current shows Mack and Mabel and Hot Mikado.

'Sweeney Todd' by Stephen Sondheim is on at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in New York until 19/11/2006.
'Sweeney Todd The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' available from Nonesuch 7559-79946-2.
'Hot Mikado' is on at The Watermill Theatre, 12 July - 2 September 2006.
