History
Maeve Creber, from border country to shipyards of the wear18 May 2006
As a three-year-old only child, Maeve Creber was expected to sit quietly and not ask questions of her mother and grandmother as they chatted. So she learnt to listen.

From this, Maeve became caught up in an intricate web of narrative from their lives and learnt of the sacrifices they made for the sake of their children.

She has woven the threads of these childhood stories into a book, A Sundered Land, and Maeve joins Jenni to explain the price these women paid in order to gain respectability.

A Sundered Land, Maeve Creber, published by Livres Printemps (tel: 07813 707890), ISBN 0955161800
