Women facing the growing threat of sexual violence
To date it is believed at least 150,000 people have died in the Haitian earthquake and more than 200,000 have been injured. Reports from the devastated country continue to claim that aid is still not getting through fast enough, and women in particular struggle to access what little there is. In the chaotic aftermath there have also been frequent reports of sexual violence towards them. Jenni speaks to Sarah Spencer, who is currently in Haiti working for the aid agency International Rescue Committee, and specialises in supporting women in emergency situations.
