On her lead role in this week's Woman's Hour drama, The Pursuits of Darleen Fyles

This weeks drama is The Pursuits of Darleen Fyles. It's a journey through the unique life of a young woman with learning disabilities. Darleen struggles with her relationship with her service carers and longs to live with her boyfriend Jamie. But her mother is resistant to the idea, and fears Darleen may become sexually active. But Darleen is about to come up against a much bigger danger, when she gets her first job and falls in with a bad crowd. It's a truly remarkable preformance from Donna Lavin in the lead role who herself has learning difficulties. Jane speaks to Donna about playing the part, and to the director Pauline Harris about the true stories that inspired The Pursuits of Darleen Fyles.
