Just last year Victoria Hesketh was writing songs in her parents' garage and hadn’t even come up with the name Little Boots. She posted some songs on the internet in February last year, and when the interest grew she started to post clips of herself on YouTube singing cover songs of the Human League and Madonna as well as her own material, which attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers. In November, she appeared on Later With Jools Holland, alongside Damon Albarn and Al Green. An electropop musician, she sings, plays synthesisers, piano and the stylophone. Little Boots joins Jenni to talk about her distinctive style of music which she describes as “cosmic Coronation Street” and performs live with her Tenori-on sequencer.
Little Boots new single “New In Town” will be released on May 25th through 679/Atlantic in the UK. Her debut album Hands will be released on June 8th.
