Why are unapproved HRT treatments growing in popularity?

Oprah Winfrey is among those backing them as a new wonder treatment for symptoms of the menopause, but so called bio-identical hormones have been described as “potentially dangerous” by the Food and Drug Administration in America. So what are these bio-identicals, and as they become more readily available over here, should we be excited or concerned? Jenni is joined by Malcolm Whitehead; head of the Gynaelogical Endocrinology Unit at Kings College London and Dr Wendy Denning G.P.
