Attitudes to Housework08 May 2009
Housework
How far have we let slip our mothers’ cleaning standards and are we truly not bothered?

When did you last carry out a deep clean around the house? Have you been known to get down on your knees to wipe the skirting boards or even pull the fridge out and clean behind? Woman's Hour will be discussing the opposite phenomenon, ‘skim’ cleaning, now said to be on the rise, where spraying polish into a room to at least make it smell clean counts as doing the housework. Have we really let our mothers’ cleaning standards slip so far and are we truly not bothered? TV Presenter of - How Clean Is Your House -Aggie MacKenzie - and skim cleaner - Vivienne Emery - discuss with Jenni.
