On standing down from the European parliament

Glenys Kinnock has taken the decision to leave the European Parliament at this summer’s elections. The wife of the former Labour Leader, she stood for election in her own right, becoming an MEP in 1994. She is the Labour Party spokesperson on International Development and has taken a close interest in issues like fair-trade and maternal mortality. Jenni talks to Glenys Kinnock about her career in politics, where her passion for social justice came from and where she will be channelling her energies after Strasbourg.
