How shall I tell the dog?20 Oct 2008
Miles Kington
One man's cancer journal

The columnist Miles Kington died in January this year after suffering from pancreatic cancer. In the last year of his life he decided to write a humorous book in the form of a series of letters to his agent, intending to make his cancer “work for it’s living”. This week’s Woman’s Hour drama is adapted from "How Shall I Tell the Dog?" which has just been published. Miles’ wife, Caroline Kington, joins Jane to talk about the unique way her husband managed to use humour to deal with his cancer and how the experience has changed her preconceptions about death.

"How shall I tell the dog? : Last laughs from the Master" is published by Profile Books ISBN 978-1846681974
