The star of Ashes to Ashes goes back to the '80s

The early 80s. The era of the wedding of Charles and Diana, riots in the inner cities… and Gene Hunt in snakeskin boots, driving an Audi Quattro. Ashes to Ashes, the spin-off from the BBC One drama Life on Mars, has it all – and its star, Keeley Hawes, joins Jane to talk about wearing red leather, the joys of 80s hairdos, and the chemistry between the police psychologist she plays, DI Alex Drake, and DCI Hunt. She also talks about some of her previous roles in dramas including Spooks, Tipping the Velvet and Dennis Potter’s Karaoke.
