Forced Marriage is back on the political agenda. Under the new Forced Marriage Act, third parties, like teachers and women’s groups, can apply for a protection order to prevent a forced marriage - without the consent of the victim. A government consultation is asking relevant organisations for their views on who should be able to ask the courts to take action to stop a forced marriage. Bridget Prentice, the Government Minister in charge of the consultation, and Jasvinder Sanghera, Founder and Director of Karma Nirvana Asian Women's Project join Jenni to discuss the proposed legislation.
