Ann Widdecombe
Talking about her life in, and out of, politics.

She is one of our most well-known and controversial politicians and last month she announced that, after 20 years as the Conservative MP for Maidstone and the Weald, she will be standing down at the next general election. Known for her tough and hard-hittting political style, Ann Widdecombe once famously described former Tory leader Michael Howard as having “something of the night about him”. She has also been the frequent target for unflattering remarks both from colleagues and the press, because of her appearance. One tabloid story about her was headlined, "The Loveless Life of the Minister They Call Doris Karloff". On the day of the State Opening of Parliament, Ann Widdecombe joins Jenni to discuss her career and her beliefs.
