We talk to the children's author about her motorbike-riding Princess Smartypants
It’s twenty one years since the children’s book “Princess Smartypants” first hit the bookstands.The antithesis of a fairy princess, she was a feminist who rode a motorbike and had no intention of getting married. Her creator, the children’s author and illustrator Babette Cole, went on to surprise and amuse with a whole range of books like “Hair in Funny”, “Drop Dead” and the million-selling “ Mummy Laid an Egg” bringing issues of puberty, sex and death to the nation’s children. She joins Jenni to talk about her life, her love of animals and kissing frogs.
